Pointerpro’s AI prompt widget supports multiple AI models from OpenAI, including GPT-4o, GPT-4, and GPT-3.5-turbo. Users can select which specific model they want to use directly in the widget settings inside the Report Builder. Future OpenAI models will also be supported as they become available.
Yes. You control the AI output by defining your own prompt inside the widget. The widget uses your assessment data and the prompt you provide to generate the AI output. You can also insert variables from the assessment into the prompt using the Variable Selector (X) in the widget toolbar, allowing you to dynamically personalize the generated text for each respondent.
Pointerpro does not store or access any of the data processed through the AI summary widget. All AI generation requests are sent directly to the AI provider (such as OpenAI) using the API key that you, as the customer, provide and manage at the organizational level.
Because the API key and connection are owned by your organization, any data sent to the AI model is handled under your provider’s data privacy and security policies - not Pointerpro’s. This ensures that your proprietary content and client data remain fully under your organization’s control.
Yes. You can decide exactly where and when to use AI within your report. The AI prompt widget functions like any other widget in the Report Builder, meaning you can place it only in specific sections where you want AI-generated text.
You can also combine it with deterministic logic elsewhere in the report - for example, using standard text, formulas, or conditional logic blocks alongside the AI widget. This allows you to mix rule-based content and AI-generated summaries in the same personalized report.
No technical or prompt engineering skills are required. The AI prompt widget is designed to be straightforward and user-friendly. You simply write a short instruction (prompt) describing what you want the AI to generate, and you can insert assessment variables using the Variable Selector to personalize the output.
That said, crafting clear prompts will improve the quality of the AI’s responses - so while technical expertise isn’t needed, some experimentation with wording can help you get the best results.

We offer two approaches: Do-it-yourself (DIY) and done-for-you (DFY).
DIY is a hands-on approach to building everything by yourself. We will ensure you learn how to use the key features to build a great assessment and report. Likewise, we’ll support you until you are ready to go live and launch the assessment to the respondents
DFY is the quickest way to get there. Our team will do the heavy lifting here. You will simply share with us the existing version of the assessment and pdf report and we will translate them into Pointerpro. Once we are done, we will teach you how to make changes to it, teach you how to distribute the assessment for you to master your desired workflow. You can reach out to support@pointerpro.com
It’s best to get started right away but our team is there to help you to feel comfortable when using the tool based on your own needs and timings. We also have a clear onboarding process in place.
