Risk assessment tool

In any workplace, risks are present to a certain degree, in some places more than others. Our risk assessment tool provides you and/or your employees with a streamlined process for assessing any potential hazards on site. Use our tool to ensure:

Why use a risk assessment?

Risk assessments are an essential part of any business, not only because of their practical use but because they are required by law (in most countries). In the United States, you must document anything if your business has more than 5 employees.

Risk assessments must be conducted before employees go to work on current or new work processes to ensure they recognize problems before they can surface and prevent people from harming themselves, others or the business.

You will already have some measures to protect you and your employees. But a risk assessment must be made to ensure those measures are both known and up-to-date.

Build all types of assessments

This is not a single-purpose assessment app. You can build maturity assessments, personality tests, 360 assessments, competency quizzes, self-assessments, or quote calculators.

"We use Pointerpro for all types of surveys and assessments across our global business and employees love its ease of use and flexible reporting."

Immediate and personalized feedback

Provide each respondent with a personalized report immediately at the end of the assessment. This can be feedback, a quote, or any other information you want to share based on their individual answers.

“It’s a great advantage to have formulas and the possibility for a really thorough analysis. There are hundreds of formulas, but the customer only sees the easy-to-read report. If you’re looking for something like that, it’s really nice to work with Pointerpro.”

No coding. No hassle.

Don’t worry about complicated setup with multiple tools. This is the only assessment app around where you can create interactive assessments that also generate personalized reports per respondent.

“NOBODY has a product that is exactly like this. I looked for days, and from what I can tell, this checks the box. In fact, it’s what I would have created if I had been designing a program for myself.”

Instantly downloadable PDF reports

No need to scare respondents away by asking for their email. Let people download their personalized PDF with a download button at the end of the assessment.

“I was able to create a customized, responsive backend combined with a clean front end that automatically generates reports and sends them to clients. The math that I’ve done says: Based on what I’m paying Pointerpro, I can run my company for the next 20 years and it’ll still be cheaper than a custom-built solution.”

5 steps to make your own risk assessment

Step 1: Identify the hazard

What is it about the activities, processes or substances used that could injure your employees or harm their health?

Step 2: Who may be harmed and how?

Ask your employees what they think the hazards are, as they may notice things that are not obvious to you and may have some good ideas on how to control the risks.

Think about people who might not be in the workplace all the time, such as visitors, contractors and maintenance workers

Step 3: Evaluate the risk and decide on precautions

This means employers must consider how likely it is that each hazard could cause harm. This will determine whether or not your employer should reduce the level of risk.

Step 4: Record your significant findings

Use a survey to write down your findings

Step 5: Review your risk assessment and update if necessary

Look at your risk assessment again and ask yourself:

Risk assessment questions

A risk assessment should give you an answer to the following questions:

It is important that the risk assessment details can be collected efficiently and that they are automatically transferred to a central storage system where the data can be analyzed.
Devices such as a tablet or smartphone are ideally suited for this task and they allow you to collect the information on location. Risk assessing through paper forms, pdf or word documents is also possible but has the disadvantage that the data still needs to be transferred to a central system as a separate action, which is error-prone and time-consuming.
